Trial Plot Update 2018

Our Extensive varietal plots presented by Syngenta this year include; Winter Wheat, Winter Barley, Winter Triticale, Oilseed Rape, Soya & Cover crops

Cover crops (As individual species and mixtures):  Oilseed Radish, Phacelia, Berseem Clover, Black Oats, White Mustard, Brown Mustard, Vetch, Forage Rye

21st March 2018

• Crops established well in the autumn with under favourable drilling conditions – drilled 25th September.
• Some interesting emergence and establishment difference between Vibrance Duo and Regido treated crops with Vibrance Duo clearly showing signs of improved sped of emergence.
• Significant rainfall (and Snow) over February and March has held up fertilizer applications but the crops have received 150 kg double top today – farm manager Doug Mccowan, Harnage Estates ltd
• Wheat varieties showing high levels of septoria infection. Yellow rust was observed during the winter but has been held back by the recent cold temperatures.
