Catchment Sensitive Farming

Catchment Sensitive Farming

“Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) is a partnership between Defra, the Environment Agency and Natural England.

The partnership provides local, expert advice, training and grant support to enable farmers to take voluntary action to improve the environment and their farm business.  We want to help you improve your businesses through reducing nutrient losses, increasing efficiencies, improving soil health, machinery and livestock management.

Since 2006, CSF has;

worked with around 20,000 farms
helped farmers take more than 70,000 positive actions to reduce pollution
helped farmers achieve reductions in many agricultural pollutants including reducing nitrates by 4%, phosphates by 8%, and a 12.3% reduction in sediment in watercourses
